Our interactive Eatwell Guide tool will help teach P1 – S3 how to get a balance of healthier and more sustainable food

The eatwell guide with foods divided into categories of fruit and vegetable, potatoes and starchy carbohydrates, beans, pulses, other proteins, dairy and alternatives and oils and spreads.

Learning

The aim of this interactive game is for children to:

  • recognise the Eatwell Guide;
  • name some of the food in each food group;
  • explain that we need different types of food, and 6-8 drinks a day, to be healthy.
  • HWB 0-15a - I am developing my understanding of the human body and can use this knowledge to maintain and improve my wellbeing and health.

  • HWB 1-15a - I am developing my understanding of the human body and can use this knowledge to maintain and improve my wellbeing and health.
  • HWB 1-30a - By investigating the range of foods available I can discuss how they contribute to a healthy diet.
